Help Us Welcome Belinda Escalante, MSW, MPA

Please join us in welcoming Belinda Escalante to Diverse Ability Incorporated, as our Equity Advocate.Belinda Escalante Belinda comes to us with a wealth of experience and passion for equity and inclusion, and we are delighted that she has chosen to apply her many talents and skills within our organization.

Belinda, who is bilingual in English and Spanish, has earned an Associate of Arts from South Mountain Community College, a Bachelor of Social Work, a Master of Social Work, specializing in Policy, Administration, and Community Practice, and a Master of Public Administration from Arizona State University. Her areas of expertise include grassroots organizing, project management, policy, and advocacy. She aspires to work with local and state governments to address systems change, which all very much align with her work as the Equity Advocate for Diverse Ability Incorporated. 
 
She takes pride in civic engagement and in creating an inclusive society, and has served as a Board member for two Arizona Chapters of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), formed a grassroots Latino effort on behalf of a Presidential Candidate, through legislative advocacy, helped pass Senate Bill 1083 in 2018, which restored two daily recess periods for K-5 students, and assisted in advancing Senate Bill 1468, also known as the Mitch Warnock Act, which sought to expand suicide awareness and prevention training in Arizona’s public schools, helped bring free yoga to youth as a Senior Organizer with Connection Coalition, and was a Business Delegate with the Saint Anthony Park Community Council.
 
Belinda is a wonderful addition to our team and we look forward to the impact her skills and experience will make within our organization and throughout Arizona.
