Empowering Young People Who Have Disabilities
AZYLF empowers youth and young adults who have disabilities through a dynamic and inclusive conference experience. Participants build leadership skills, explore the disability experience, set goals, learn about community resources, and practice self-advocacy in a supportive environment alongside their peers.
2026 AZYLF Details

- Who: Arizona students ages 14–22 who have a documented disability
- When: July 13–17, 2026
- Where: University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ
- Cost: Free for all eligible participants. If selected, participants must complete a Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Form.
Why Attend AZYLF?
Through fun, hands‑on learning and leadership activities, AZYLF participants:

- Create their own Personal Leadership Plan to guide their goals

Who Should Apply?
Eligible students who want to grow as leaders, build new skills, and connect with peers in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Eligibility
Applicants should:

- Have a documented disability*
- Be 14-22 years of age
- Be enrolled in high school or a higher education or post-secondary training program**
- Live in Arizona
Limited space may be available for applicants who do not meet all eligibility requirements.
*Documented disability may include an IEP, 504 Plan, or medical documentation of a disability or diagnosis.
**Higher education or post-secondary training examples include colleges and universities, certificate programs, and other post-secondary training programs.

Submitting an application is the first step, but it does not guarantee a spot. A member of our staff will contact you with more details on what’s next, including:

- Completing an AZYLF Delegate Packet
- Attending an orientation
Be sure to check your email regularly for updates!
Reminder: You can attend AZYLF only once. If you’ve already graduated from AZYLF, you’re not eligible to apply again. However, previous graduates are encouraged to apply to serve at AZYLF 2026. Email the PBS Inbox for more details.

No Cost For Participants
Thanks to our diverse funding and collaborative partnerships, including with the Rehabilitation Services Administration/Vocational Rehabilitation Services, eligible youth can participate in AZYLF at no charge. To receive this funding and facilitate this program, participants must complete a Pre‑Employment Transition Services (Pre‑ETS) Form. This Form is the document RSA/VR uses to authorize funding support for eligible students.
