Peer-Based, Person-Centered Planning Services

At Diverse Ability Incorporated, a person-centered plan is a helpful document created by a youth or young adult, with assistance from their supporters, to outline their vision for the future. This document is all about them, and it’s flexible and can be adjusted as their dreams and goals grow! With the assistance of their chosen supporters and one of our trained Peer Leaders, we aim to help youth and young adults: express their wishes, build on their strengths, and set clear goals.

Peer-Based Programs for Schools

Diverse Ability Incorporated’s peer-based programs for schools empower students who have disabilities as they transition to adulthood. Our trained Peer Leaders educate, motivate, and equip students through hands-on learning opportunities, including: Person-Centered Planning and Skills to Pay the Bills programming. We can customize our programs to meet the needs of your school and students. Contact us to learn how we can work together to provide your students with quality, peer-based education.

Peer Navigation

Finding the right support can be overwhelming, but our Peer Navigation Services are here to help youth and young adults discover valuable resources and programs. Our Peer Navigators are trained Peer Leaders who are knowledgeable about local programs and support services. They offer personal insights that make the navigation process more relatable, and they can provide information about opportunities offered by Diverse Ability Incorporated.

Skills to Pay the Bills

Skills to Pay the Bills is a practical curriculum designed to prepare young people for success in the workplace. Our Peer Leaders utilize this curriculum to introduce youth and young adults to essential workplace interpersonal and professional skills through hands-on, engaging activities. These activities focus on six key skills: Communication, Enthusiasm and Attitude, Teamwork, Networking, Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking, and Professionalism.

This program is administered in partnership with Encircle Families and is funded by the ADHS/Bureau of Women’s and Children’s Health through the Title V Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant.
