Engaging Families & Young Adults Program

The Engaging Families and Young Adults Program provides opportunities for young adults and family members, who have diverse backgrounds and life experiences, to meaningfully engage in the organizations and systems which impact them.

How does it work?

1. Family members and young adults (18-26), including those who have disabilities, apply to become advisors in the program. The Engaging Families and Young Adults program is managed by Diverse Ability Incorporated and Raising Special Kids.

2.  The Engaging Families and Young Adults Program provides initial training and ongoing support for each Advisor.

3.  Advisors are matched with Placement Agencies. The level of engagement is customizable and can be adapted over time.

4.  Involving individuals with firsthand experience in the design and implementation of initiatives meant to benefit them opens the door to significant and lasting impact.

Who is needed? YOU!

ADVISORS

Advisors are family members and young adults aged 18-26, including those who have disabilities or ongoing healthcare considerations, who wish to represent the communities they identify with. Advisors are compensated by the Placement Agencies for their time and expertise.

PLACEMENT AGENCIES

Placement agencies enter into an agreement with the Engaging Families and Young Adults program, and together, they design a framework for advisor engagement. Placement Agencies compensate advisors for their time and expertise.
