Tahneesha Smith

Tahneesha, who has lived in seven states, was born, and raised in Wisconsin. She is happily married to her high school sweetheart, and they are the proud parents of four beautifully unique and creative children, whom Tahneesha home schools.

Tahneesha describes herself as a mid-aged, introverted, Christian, work-at-home mom, who is balancing aging parents and quickly maturing children. A fun fact about Tahneesha is that multiples run in her family, as her grandmother had a total of twelve children, including three sets of twins, one of which is Tahneesha’s mother. When she was young, Tahneesha dreamed of having a set of twins, even writing a paper about it. Many years later, her dream was realized, when she gave birth to twin boys.

Tahneesha holds a Bachelor Degree in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida, and is a United States Air Force Veteran, who graduated from the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Maryland. Prior to acquiring a service connected disability, she worked at a joint military school, where she provided graphic and audio visual support services.

For a decade, Tahneesha was a self-employed, virtual assistant, who served small businesses and nonprofits. She never met most of her clients in person, as they were all over the country, as well as in Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia. As the Efficiency Expert, Tahneesha brings an eclectic set of skills to Diverse Ability Incorporated. She enjoys the day-to-day operations as much as creative projects, and has a hard time believing that things cannot be improved upon, or performed more efficiently. Tahneesha enjoys research, organizing and/or managing processes, and considers herself lifelong learner.

As an active member of the homeschool community, Tahneesha is a strong advocate for children who have disabilities, and learning challenges. She prides herself on always doing her best, and invests time in perusing the internet for new homeschooling, parenting, cooking, and decorating ideas, or tips. Tahneesha loves spending time with family, and testing out new recipes.

Tahneesha lives by the scripture, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13). She is also a fan of the Henry Ford quote, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right.” Tahneesha’s own personal motto is one that she, herself, coined: “Learning happens every day”.
