During each conference\, Participants explore leadership\, the disability experience\, goal setting\, community resources\, and self-advocacy in an engaging environment with other young people. \nAZYLF provides a safe space for all to share their experiences\, ideas\, and feelings. The conference is peer led\, with young adults serving as facilitators and peer leaders throughout the conference. \nLunch and snacks will be provided each day. \n\nAZYLF Application deadline is CLOSED.

SUMMARY:African American Conference on Disabilities
DESCRIPTION:The AACD is the premier comprehensive disability conference in the United States that addresses the intersection between race and disability. The conference examines avenues for self-advocacy to ensure the effective provision of services\, resources\, and enforcement of civil rights in the African American and disability communities. \nIn the past several years\, over 15\,000 virtual attendees have come from all across Arizona\, almost every state in the U.S.\, U.S. Virgin Islands\, Canada\, Africa\, and Europe to learn and ask questions on a wide range of disability issues. \nThe virtual preview conference will be February 14-15 and in-person\, June 28\, at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Phoenix. \nRegister for the virtual conference here: https://bit.ly/3Sl4HG9
